The Basic Equipment.

All the basic equipment.  It might look complicated, but it is not all that hard to use.
The gages show how deep you are and how much air you have left.

These are what you breath out of.  They are called regulators and control the air flow out of the tank and allow you to breath under water.  The Blue is the one you breath off and the Yellow is the Emergency one, should you ever need to give you dive buddy a regulator while under.

This is what allows a diver to control his or her decent and accent. It is called a Stab Jacket.  Opposite is a semi dry soot section. Made from neoprene, a substance that is light, strong,  a good insulator and is water proof.

Gloves keep our hands warm in the cold UK water.
The Mask is  made from a none shattering plastic and helps us see under the water.  The snorkel allows us to breath while looking under before we submerge.  This cuts down the air demand at the start and at the end of a dive.
Wet Soot socks keep the feet warm and Fins help divers propel themselves through the water.
The divers knife is not for killing fish or sharks, but is for divers to cut nets and other things that they could get trapped in, like fishing tackle.
Lead weights allows the diver to brake through the suffice tension of the water and sink.  It also helps to control buoyancy, Like the Stab Jacket.
